Booking & requirements

What do I need to rent a Vespa?

A licence appropriate to your chosen model — a B or AM licence for the Vespa 50, or an A2 or A licence for the Vespa 150 — along with the relevant minimum age (18 for the 50, 20 for the 150) and at least 1 year of prior riding experience.

Can I bring a passenger?

Yes — each Vespa can carry one passenger in addition to the rider, which is why every rental comes with 2 helmets. Just the one extra passenger though; the Vespa isn't rated to carry more.

What should I bring to pickup?

Bring your valid driving licence, passport or national ID, and your preferred payment method, plus a credit card for the €300 deposit hold.

How far ahead should I enquire?

Summer availability — July and August fill quickly. Contact us early with your preferred model and dates. Check availability. Short-notice and same-day rentals may still be possible, but availability is only confirmed when we reply to your enquiry.

What are your pickup and return hours?

Pickup is between 9am and 6pm, and return between 9am and 8pm, every day. If you need to reach us outside those hours, message or email us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

How much is the security deposit?

€300, held as a credit card authorisation at pickup against loss of or damage to the Vespa or its equipment. If the Vespa is returned undamaged, we release the hold within 1 hour. It typically reappears in your available balance within 24 hours, but the timing is controlled by your card issuer and may take up to 10 days, particularly over weekends or holidays.

How do I book, and when do I pay?

Contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp with your preferred model, dates and any extras. We'll confirm availability and arrange the rental with you directly. Payment and the deposit authorisation are both handled in person when you pick up the Vespa; we don't take either through the website. We accept cash, debit and credit cards for the rental payment. The deposit requires a credit card and cannot be provided in cash.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes, any time, at no cost — we don't take any payment or deposit until you collect the Vespa, so there's nothing to lose by cancelling. Just let us know by email or phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you don't show up or get in touch within an hour of your pickup time, we may release the reservation. Once you've picked up the Vespa and paid, though, that payment is final — we don't offer refunds for early returns, unused days, or bad weather.

What if you need to cancel my booking?

If we ever need to cancel on our end, we'll first offer you the same model on a different date. If that doesn't suit you, we'll offer a larger model at the same price instead, provided you meet the licence, age and experience requirements to ride it. If neither works, the reservation is simply cancelled — since no payment is ever taken until pickup, there's nothing to refund.

What if I'm running late for pickup?

Let us know as soon as you can. If you arrive within an hour of your agreed pickup time, we'll try to hold your reservation, but whether you get the full rental period counted from your actual arrival is at our discretion — otherwise the rental runs from your originally agreed pickup time regardless of when you actually collect the Vespa, so that time isn't added back at the end. If we don't hear from you within the hour, we may release the reservation.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If severe weather is expected before pickup, contact us as early as possible. Because payment is taken only when you collect the Vespa, we can cancel at no cost or try to move your rental to another available date. Light rain or a cloudy forecast does not automatically cancel a rental.

Once the Vespa has been collected and paid for, unused time and early returns are not refundable. Never continue riding if the conditions feel unsafe—stop somewhere secure and call us on +385 099 832 2216 for guidance.

What's included

What comes with every rental?

Basic insurance, unlimited kilometres, 2 helmets, a phone holder, and roadside assistance under the conditions below.

Is there storage on the Vespa?

Every Vespa has storage under the seat, and some models also come with an additional top case for extra space. Because top case availability varies by Vespa, we can't guarantee one for your booking — let us know if it would help and we'll do our best to sort you one.

What does Basic Insurance include?

It's Croatia's standard third-party liability cover, required by law for every moped and motorcycle on the road. You aren't personally liable for accident damage or injury caused to third parties — including other cars, mopeds, property or people — whether you're at fault or not. If you're at fault, you remain responsible for damage to the rented Vespa and for your own injuries. The cover doesn't insure the Vespa itself, your own injuries or theft, so ride within the rental terms and take care on the road.

What does roadside assistance cover?

Roadside assistance is only available within Zadar County. Free assistance for genuine mechanical faults, valid within a 25km radius of our office (islands excluded), provided the Vespa was operated appropriately and the fault wasn't caused by misuse. Call-outs for refuelling, jump-starts, tyre issues, lost or damaged keys, or assistance within Zadar County but outside that zone are charged at €100. Island call-out assistance is guaranteed at a charge of €225, but response and arrival times are not guaranteed because they depend on ferry schedules, weather and access. No assistance is offered outside Zadar County for either the Vespa 50 or Vespa 150, except at the rental owner's sole discretion and for an additional fee.

Pricing

Can I add enhancements to my booking?

Yes. You can select any available enhancement once during the booking process.

What is the Extended Ride Rate?

It's our discount for longer bookings — reserve any Vespa for 3 days or more and the daily rate drops automatically, no code needed. That works out to €5 off each day on the Vespa 50, or €10 off each day on the Vespa 150. The longer you book, the more those daily savings add up.

When does a half-day fee apply?

A half-day fee applies to a multi-day booking when your return time is later in the day than your pickup time. For example, a Monday 10:00 pickup with a Wednesday 15:00 return includes the standard two-day rate plus a half-day fee. The fee is €25 for a Vespa 50 or €40 for a Vespa 150.

There is no half-day fee for a same-day rental, or when a multi-day booking is returned at or before its pickup time. Any applicable fee is calculated automatically and shown in your price breakdown before you confirm the booking.

What extra costs should I know about?

Beyond the rental rate: fuel used during your rental, plus a €20 refuelling fee if it isn't returned at the same level; if you're late without contacting us, a minimum €30 late fee plus €10 for each additional hour; a €20 cleaning fee if needed; a €25 processing fee if we have to forward a traffic or parking notice; and the cost of any damage or repair.

During your ride

Where can I ride?

Vespa 50 rentals must stay within Zadar County. Vespa 150 rentals may travel outside Zadar County, but no assistance is offered outside the county for either model, except at the rental owner's sole discretion and for an additional fee.

Are there any other riding restrictions?

Beyond the Zadar County boundary for the Vespa 50: no riding on the beach or any unpaved surface likely to damage the Vespa, no racing or competitive use, and it can't be sublet or re-hired to anyone else. Absolutely no drinking and riding: the rider must not consume alcohol before or while riding, and must never operate the Vespa under the influence of alcohol. Stick to paved roads and you'll be fine.

Do I need to refuel before returning the Vespa?

Yes — every Vespa is handed over with a full tank of regular 95 petrol, and it should be returned the same way. If it isn't returned full, a €20 refuelling fee applies.

What if something goes wrong during my ride?

Call us immediately — +385 099 832 2216 — regardless of what's happened. Please don't attempt repairs yourself, except where genuinely necessary to prevent further damage.

What happens if I get a parking or traffic ticket?

We'll forward any notice we receive to you, and you're free to challenge it directly with the issuing authority. A €25 processing fee applies to cover forwarding such notices.
